Hattisar, Bhimphedi

Prior to the construction of Tribhuvan highway , Bhimphedi, the connecting market center of Kathmandu valley with Terai and India, used to be the district Headquarter.

It has now the elephant museum for the then made Hattisar (Elephant Shed) and component required in elephant ride (“Hauda”) reflecting the history of wild animal power used as alternative to vehicle.
